5. Dawn Of Awesome - Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

Now let's bring things bang up to date, shall we? Previously glimpsed under a mucky tarpaulin and then behind a brooding Ben Affleck, we've not gotten a proper look at the supercar that'll be used in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, Zack Snyder's follow up to Man Of Steel. That first film in the new DC Cinematic Universe was weird blend of the sort of grimy, realistic world that existed in the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy and the usual comic book stuff, with Superman having to deal with the very real threat of death and destruction...whilst also being an alien in blue tights and a cape, flying around shooting lasers out of his eyes, then expecting that a pair of glasses and a slightly different haircut will be enough to conceal his secret identity whilst off-duty. So not totally realistic, then. It looks like the new Batmobile will be striking a similar balance between the sublime and the ridiculous, which we are certainly fans of. Not quite the militarised tank of the tumbler and not quite as stylised as Adam West's ride, the new Batmobile is somewhere in between. It's got influences from all the previous on-screen incarnations, successfully blending them into a unified Batmobile that's definitely not something you'd see any conventional army using during combat, but also isn't complete comic book fantasy. It's chunky and big but still looks like it could move at a fair old clip, it's got the right colour scheme...we're just wondering what it's got packed under the hood. Nolan's tumbler wasn't exactly laden with gadgets, but it had a few surprises up its metaphorical sleeve. Mainly we're worried about that turret on the hood: is this going to be a Batman who shirks his usual no-guns policy?
