3. Gothic
Again, the writer of this story should be enough to convince anyone that source material such as Batman: Gothic would make one hell of a film. Why? Because it's written by Grant Morrison. What more can I say? The man is a genius when it comes to Batman stories, particularly this one. It takes us back to Bruce during his school days and how certain events tie into a number of gruesome deaths in Batman's early days. This should make an excellent reboot film because not only are we given sufficient background that can be moulded into a short origin story, we find out more about how Bruce's entire life could have led to things that happened when he's Batman. More than that, we would get to see a little more Thomas and Martha Wayne as well as a happy young Bruce. Oh, and did I mention it's written by Grant Morrison? It's a gripping detective story, murder mystery, horror story and thriller, all in one presented to us by the genius that is Grant Morrison. If the filmmakers stick strictly to the comic and the way it goes, then this film has the potential to be incredible in establishing a new Batman.
