1. Zero Year/The New 52
In August 2011, DC Comics, now DC Entertainment, introduced The New 52: Where 52 new titles portrayed a time when the heroes are young and so the stories are fresh. More importantly, for people who wanted to start reading comics, this was a good place to jump on. In terms of the Batman title, I think we can all agree that Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo are doing a fantastic job with it. So why not take incredible story-arcs such as the upcoming Zero Year, Court of Owls/Night of Owls or Death of the Family and turn them into another epic Batman trilogy? The New 52 gave readers a new, definitive DC Universe, so I think it's safe to assume that future DC movies should be based around this new Universe. Scott Snyder gives us a magnificent new Gotham, with a magnificent new Batman. This is the perfect opportunity to present a younger, fresher Batman to new audiences. Zero Year in particular would be a great new starting point for a Batman reboot for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it is a completely different take on the origin story, meaning that audiences will not be shown a recycled origin done in a new style by a new director. Snyder promises that Zero Year will be a completely different take on Batman's origin, therefore audiences will be given something that they have never seen before, which, I feel, will be very interesting. Like I said in my introduction, if we get a Batman film based around the eleven issue Zero Year story-arc as an origin, I would be prepared to sit through it. Wouldn't you? Secondly, the fact that the story arc is going so in depth into creating a new origin story for Batman means that we are given more detail interms of Bruce's preparation for his one-man war on crime.
