Back before viral online marketing was ever a thing, every big-budget movie would release dozens if not hundreds of so-called "publicity stills" to the press, usually shot in front of a drab backdrop to simply give reporters and audiences a glimpse of how the characters look.

Warner Bros. released an extensive collection of them for Batman Forever, the highlight being an hilarious set featuring a suited-up Val Kilmer awkwardly staring at the camera while Nicole Kidman tries her level best to look sexy while gripping the black leather.

It's more cringe-worthy than cool. Just imagine if a new Batman movie released something so howlingly tone-deaf.
