5. The Incredibly Cheap-Looking Animation

Batman Gotham By Gaslight Batman

Low-budget visuals have been a problematic aspect of Warner Bros' DC animated films for quite some time, and Gotham by Gaslight sadly doesn't break the mold at all in that regard.

Though there are sure, single shots that pop visually, overall the film can't ever escape feeling disappointingly low-rent, as though every possible production expense has been spared to ensure maximum profitability.

From the ugly CGI landscapes to the oft-stilted animation style, it lacks the vibrancy of the very best DC animations, and as such feels like another Batman film speedily churned out for a quick buck.

Unsurprising, but disappointing all the same.
