Batman: The Killing Joke Review - 5 Ups And 6 Downs

3. Not Enough Joker

This film makes you wait...and wait...and wait until The Joker finally shows up, and it's almost 35 minutes before we see him for the first time (after a fake-out a few moments earlier where Batman meets an impostor Joker).

So, even if The Joker is in every single second of the remaining run-time, that's less than 40 minutes, and of course, he isn't. Plus, given how much time is devoted to his (admittedly great) back story, there's only around 20 minutes of the actual Joker himself.

Considering how fantastic Mark Hamill is in the role, it's a shame that his part is so scant, all the more so given the filler garbage that's front-loaded onto the film.
