The movie's second scene shows Man of Steel's final battle from the perspective of Bruce Wayne, as he desperately races towards Wayne Tower and instructs his employees to evacuate as fast as possible. There's an incredible shot of a Kryptonian ship slicing countless skyscrapers in half as it soars through the sky, before Wayne Tower gets caught in the Superman-Zod crossfire and breaks in two. The sequence then ends with Bruce walking through the debris to find Wallace Keefe crippled by the wreckage, and a young girl whose mother was presumably killed in the attack. It's a riveting way to kick things off and crucially adds context to one of the most divisive elements of Man of Steel, by humanising the carnage more and tying Bruce directly to it.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
