Batman V Superman: 10 Biggest New Reveals From Zack Snyder's Live Commentary

One of Batman v Superman's strangest moments comes when Bruce Wayne experiences a vision of a desolate future where the Man of Steel is a villain and Darkseid has taken over the world with his Parademons. Once that ends, the Flash delivers a cryptic message from the future, and we've since learned that this was meant to pay off in the Justice League sequel.

Snyder chose his words carefully while (sort of) providing an explanation, saying: "I guess it's boring for him waiting for it to decrypt so he fell asleep. Maybe. I'm not sure. Maybe it's a by-product of Flash cracking on the cosmic treadmill or whether it creates some sort of rift where it allows Batman to see into the future. It could be a combo of those things."

That may be frustratingly vague, but Snyder added that the resistance headquarters (located in the Batcave) is hidden beneath where we see Batman arrive with the stolen Kryptonite from LexCorp, and he confirmed that Superman and Darkseid are now working together to rule over the Earth.

"Not all of humanity have been turned into parademons, some are used to infiltrate the human resistance on Earth," Snyder says, alluding to those soldiers the Man of Steel leads. "Superman, at this point, has probably succumbed to the Anti-Life Equation and serves the will of Darkseid and he's also looking for Batman whom he blames for the death of Lois Lane in this alternate world."
