The Joker being part of Suicide Squad was a massive surprise when it was revealed last year, but Warner Bros. were smart to cast Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club) as it's hard to think of an actor more capable of following in the footsteps of Heath Ledger than him. Without getting too spoilery, it's believed that The Joker's role in that movie will see him behind bars rather than as a member of the team, so him getting a significant role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice wouldn't make an awful lot of sense. His name being dropped into conversation shedding some light on his actions would make for a satisfying Easter Egg, as would an Arkham Asylum with The Joker's laugh heard in the distance. As talented as he is, Leto has a daunting task ahead of him as he prepares to take on the role of the Clown Prince of Crime. Anything which could be done to get people excited about the actor bringing him back to the big screen would be very effective though, but let's save an actual meeting between The Joker and Batman for the latter's next solo outing.
