Not happening. Not yet, at the very least. This is only the second film! Killing off one half of your main character just doesn't make sense. Keeping Superman alive while killing off Clark would have no impact on the audience whatsoever, at least for right now. Because who cares if Clark is dead as long as Superman is alive? If you're going to kill a character in a movie like this, it has to mean something. It has to make sense in the story and your audience has to care that the character has died. Lois would have to pretend afterwards that her boyfriend/love interest has died to all of her Daily Planet co-workers. And Clark would have to resort to fake moustaches if ever he wanted to walk around out of the Superman suit, because he'd already have used up his glasses disguise. Killing major characters is an art form Joss Whedon has perfected, and it's why shows like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead have become renowned for their ability to rip your heart out. The death of Clark Kent in the second Extended Universe movie just wouldn't have that response. Somewhere down the line, maybe there's a story where that could work. But not yet. Movie / TV enthusiast with a DVD and Blu-ray collection bigger than I'd care to admit. If anyone is offering creative / furniture solutions to house them, I'm all ears.
