10. Denzel Washington Is Green Lantern

This rumour got started up before filming properly began on Dawn Of Justice, and you could tell from the outset it had no basis in reality. As cool as he is, and as much fame as he's got around the world, Warner Bros is not going to get Denzel Washington to play Green Lantern. He's 60 right now, which would make him one of the oldest movie superheroes of all time, if not the oldest. And with Green Lantern Corps not due out until 2020, when Washington would be 65, he's just way too unlikely a choice to be taking the oath. Initially, the rumours had him pegged as playing Lex Luthor, which might have actually been interesting. It's not often he plays a villain role, but he nails it when he does. Then talk turned to him making an appearance as John Stewart/Green Lantern, and it quickly became clear it was all just the rumour mill grinding away. Washington himself eventually came out and expressed more enthusiasm about playing the next Bond, getting the ball rolling on the #DenzelIsJamesBond campaign himself.
