Batman typically takes out his enemies from above, swooping down before returning to the shadows. To differentiate this movie's version from convention, and perhaps show the older Batman's methods, Ben Affleck's take does the opposite - he explodes up from the floor below.

The goons are alerted to his presence already (smashing windows will do that), carefully watching the door, but this attack takes them all by surprise.
