Batman V Superman - Ultimate Edition: 11 Ways It Improves The Original

1. Lex Is Going To Arkham Asylum

Both cuts of the movie feature a confrontation between a jailed Lex Luthor and Batman at the very end, but the Ultimate Edition dares to go further by namedropping one of DC's most famous locales.

Lex taunts Batman by rambling and saying that he's insane and unfit to stand trial, and Bats replies, "We have hospitals that treat the mentally ill with compassion. But that’s not where you’re going. I’ve arranged to have you transferred to Arkham Asylum in Gotham. I still have some friends there. And they're expecting you."

After Lex looks scared, we then return to the "bells have already been rung" speech and the rest of the scene plays out as usual. Still, this adds about 50 seconds to the exchange and makes the theatrical cut seem incredibly rushed and awkwardly-edited by comparison. Plus, referencing Arkham Asylum and its unsavoury inhabitants is a great nod to the upcoming Suicide Squad.
