12. The Origin Will Return AGAIN

Thanks to set leaks quite early on, it was all but confirmed that Batman Vs Superman is going to include something of a nod to Batman's origin story. Vintage vehicles suggested a period setting that would fit with Bruce being around the same age as when his parents were murdered, and then further leaks showed images of the cinema that they visit immediately before their death. It seems likely that Snyder is going with a flashback sequence since this isn't exactly Batman's story and having an origin prologue would be somewhat jarring, and reasonable supposition has that flashback set in 1981 (the release year for Excalibur, the film replacing The Mark Of Zorro at the cinema). Hopefully the film isn't going to get bogged down in too much detail about the origins: every audience in the world is already overly-familiar with that story and retreading needlessly is foolish. Perhaps we'll get a stylised montage like the beginning of Watchmen - chance would be a fine thing.
