BATTLE: LOS ANGELES Poster Is Another Smart Tease...

There are not many films I am anticipating more than Battle: Los Angeles, the upcoming Jonathan Liebesman directed alien invasion flick that opens in March. My excitement grew ten fold with release of that terrific trailer a few weeks back (see it here). Starring Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez and Bridget Moynahan, the film concerns a platoon of soldiers deployed to LA for a street fight against the E.T.'s! A new poster has debuted at Coming Soon and continues the good work Columbia are doing of teasing the picture bit by bit, and not blowing their load by showing us all their money shots in one go. Take a peek and tell us what you think... Nice, simple, foreboding. I like the melancholy tone they're taking with the marketing, (the use of Johan Johansson's 'The Suns Gone Dim'track was a masterstroke) and I hope its an accurate reflection of the actual film. How many times have we been sold a different movie in the run up to a release, only to find that the finished article is is nothing like it at all? The old bait and switch. As long as that's not the case, and what we're getting is actually a down n' dirty combat movie in the vein of Black Hawk Down then we could have something very special on our hands with this one. Hell, it can't be any worse than Skyline, can it? Battle: Los Angeles is released 11th March (US) AND 25th March (UK).
