Beautiful trailer for Sean Penn's Into the Wild

ddd.jpgSean Penn has probably been one of the best actors of the last twenty years but what some of you may not know is that he occasionally steps behind the camera too. Penn directed his first movie all the way back in 1991 with The Indian Runner and has since helmed only two other movies The Crossing Guard and The Pledge, both of which starred his good pal Jack Nicholson. His fourth directorial effort is Into the Wild which stars Emile Hirsch in the true tale of a high school graduate in the early 90's who decides to hitchike across the Alaskan wilderness. A great supporting cast supports the film too William Hurt, Vince Vaughn, Catherine Keener and Marcia Gay Harden appearing at various stages along Hirsh's journey.

This trailer looks absolutely stunning but the work of young actor Emile Hirsch is going to be the key to this. If we don't feel for him and if he doesn't make us interested in this journey of self-discovery of his, then the movie won't work. Look for this in your local cinema on September 21st (U.S.) or October 26th (U.K.) Thanks to Filmstalker for the heads up on the trailer, which promoted be to find this one on Youtube!
