Beauty And The Beast: 21 Easter Eggs & References You Must See

12. The Sultan's Palace?

Perhaps because there's a Beauty And The Beast Easter Egg in Aladdin (a small toy version of Beast appears among the Sultan's toys), the live action remake pays homage to Aladdin in trinket form too.

Among the ornate creations on Maurice's worktable, there is an elephant with the Taj Mahal on its back - which of course looks like the palace of Agrabah from Aladdin, as it was the real-world inspiration for the Sultan's home. Could the elephant also be a nod to Apu's elephant form when the genie transforms him to carry Prince Ali?

The table also has a small carriage, with two figures dancing on top - they appear to be wearing the same costumes that Belle and Beast later wear in the ballroom scene.
