6. Luke Evans Steals The Show As Gaston

Emma Watson may prove rather underwhelming as Belle, but Luke Evans is an absolute force of nature as her persistent, arrogant suitor Gaston.

Though there's a clear disconnect between his more realistic, slight frame and the outrageous claims of his own song, Evans hilariously embodies the oafish essence of the beloved villain, and gives easily the best performance in the entire movie.

Evans in fact often proves the film's saving grace, as just when ennui threatens to set in during some of the more prolonged segments, Gaston will show up with a spring in his step to liven things up. Fantastic.
