Believe it or Not!.... it's still happening
The Jim Carrey/Tim Burton team-up movie has according to Variety being resurrected with a production start date of, wait for it......... winter 2008! 2 years away! The movie Ripley's Believe it or Not was shelved earlier this year after the potential budget for the movie was going to skyrocket $150 million. Other sources would lead you to believe that Burton and Carrey fell out over creatve differences, which may have some weight behind it after the Carrey/Diaz reunion movie was suddenly canned in October and the Carrey/Stiller movie Used Guys never got off the ground. It seems like they have kissed and made up now because at the approval of both Carrey and Burton, Bruce Almighty screen writer Steve Oederkerk has been brought in to do a big script overhaul to fit the budget demands which will also net him a very nice seven figure sum. So we got a long time to wait for this thing. Don't expect it in cinema's for another 1,000 days. And even then, who's to say that this won't get canned again. Is Carrey becoming difficult to work with, or is it just a concidence that three of his projects fell apart for one reason or another this year? source - variety, coming soon
