Believe the hype. Really positive CLOVERFIELD reviews...

Ok so we've had Harry Knowles practically make love to CLOVERFIELD and then eat it up for lunch but one man's review, a classic movie does not make. Thankfully, he's not the only one smitten with the monster movie. It played last night and the reviews have been universally great. Check them out below the image.

"I'm still trying to comprehend the film I just watched. It really is like no other monster movie you've ever seen...It's wonderful, it's frightening and it's truly a breath of fresh air" . - Erik Davis, CINEMATICAL
"Cloverfield is a fun movie. Plain and simple. It€™s sit back, relax and go. It€™s a roller coaster ride. JJ Abrams wanted to make an American monster movie, and he has done just that. Cloverfield is not a Godzilla rip-off, it€™s the reinvention of the monster film". - Peter Sciretta, SLASH FILM
"This unpredictability is ultimately what really makes the film work. Cloverfield is a ride with more €œholy s***€ moments than any film in recent memory. But what about the monster(s)? You see more of them than you€™d expect but less than any other similar movie. They are pretty frightening when they are on screen, but the mystery that surrounds them is what gives them their real strength". - Slice, BLOODY DISGUSTING
"I don't know about you but I fell for it from start to finish. If I'm geeking out too much I'm sorry, I'm not saying it€™s the best movie EVER, its not. But it is a lot of fun and a hell of a ride. The main thing I'm trying to convey is considering the amount of movies I see in a given year that when something new and interesting like this comes around its like falling in love with the process all over again". - Michael Dayspring, IESB
"All in all though, this is possibly the best disaster movie ever. Maybe not best monster movie, but the beginning is very disaster oriented once the action kicks off, and that was fun. We get some good kills, some blood, and a few jump scares". - Robert Fure, FILM SCHOOL REJECTS
Granted now, all these reviews come from geek news sites... much like ourselves but I guess we are the audience the film is marketing towards and not the writers of Variety or The Hollywood Reporter. Movie opens on Friday in the U.S. and I'm hearing that it's been bumped up to 1st February in the U.K.
