Ben Affleck returns to comedy

Actor gets back on the comedy bandwagon after a stint at directing.

Gone Baby Gone, Ben Affleck has decided to return to comedy acting for the first time since his double header of mega flops Surviving Christmas and Man About Town which very nearly killed his career. Let's be honest, he still hasn't recovered since then and it's still affecting him now as Hollywoodland last year failed to light up the box office despite a great performance from him. Affleck has signed up for the ensemble comedy He's Just Not That Into You according to Variety. Yup, it's that movie about modern day relationships that every actor and actress under the sun is joining at the moment. The cast now includes.... Drew Barrymore (who is also producing), Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, Kevin Connolly, Bradley Cooper, Scarlett Johansson, Ginnifer Goodwin, Justin Long and now Ben Affleck. Nice to see Affleck attempting the comedy routine again and really he's in a no lose situation here. If the movie bombs and is panned by critics then he is only one little part of the jigsaw, so it won't damage his reputation to much. If the movie does well, it will begin to ease him back in with the general audience and then maybe he can start fronting his own movies again. The movie begins shooting on September 10th, with License to Wed director Ken Kwapis behind the camera.
