Ok, so I know I should be doing my job here and saying
NO MORE HORROR REMAKES DAMNIT......but this really gets me excited. This is how you remake a "classic".
The Hollywood Reporter have the scoop that
Benicio Del Toro will lead the remake of the Universal horror classic
The Wolf Man. Wow, now that is some spot on casting right there. Del Toro was amazing in
21 Grams and was scary as hell but he gave his character an emotional depth that is perfect for a transformation into a hairy monster!
Mark Romanek is on board to direct who made the visually spectacular
One Hour Photo. Not only that but he shot the sick
Robin Williams in such a way that you got close to his character and couldn't help but feel sorry for him. Again spot on! And lastly, it's from an
Andrew Kevin Walker script (
Se7en,
Sleepy Hollow) and is A VICTORIAN PERIOD MOVIE. Oh hell, yes! There is far too many talented people on board this project for it not to succeed. Don't be prejudice towards this project before it's even begun, let's give this horror remake a chance. Just keeping remembering, with the right people involved horror remakes can work.....
The Fly,
The Thing,
Dawn of the Dead are prime examples of that. source -
