BFI Launches Five-Year UK Film Plan

Will BFI's Plan Work?

Although the BFI€™s announcement and five year plan is welcomed by myself and the film industry as a whole only time will tell if it manages to help boost British film or whether it is a misguided promise and things will continue as normal. I am myself looking for film funding using the crowd funding technique and intend to explore this and other ways of getting cash for your film over the coming weeks. To see how a crowd funding campaign works please feel free to check out my campaign as I seek to raise £5000 to make a documentary film about how a small community in the Welsh valleys supports a small, but hardworking charity called Everyone€™s Child Romania. The charity is working tirelessly and helping the poorest children and young people in Romania who suffer with HIV and Aids. Through dirty blood transfusions and the use of dirty needles in Romanian hospitals and orphanages in the 1980€™s the country developed the highest number of reported infant cases of HIV in Europe at 10,000 and accounted for 1 in every 2 cases. The real story is that double the number again are believed to have gone unreported. These children are now growing into young adults and trying to find independence and happiness despite suffering greatly with their illness and living in poverty. Everyone€™s Child Romania is run by 3 people in Romania and supported by 6 people in Wales. The work they do with so little money is truly inspirational and an example of how even the smallest efforts can help enrich the lives of those suffering thousands of miles away. http://www.sponsume.com/project/everyones-child-romania
