Black Adam: 20 WTF Moments

Doctor Fate spends most of the movie fretting over a recurring apocalyptic vision he has, which ends with the death of his good pal and teammate Hawkman.

However during the final battle, he realises that he can spare Hawkman's life by sacrificing his own, and so creates an unbreakable forcefield which locks Hawkman out of the fight.

Fate then goes to battle Sabbac alone, all while using his abilities to rouse Adam from his slumber, but ultimately succumbs to Sabbac's might, being run through by him.

Yet in death Fate evidently finds comfort, as he tells Hawkman of his final vision before heading off to the fight: "I saw nothing [as opposed to Hawkman's death], and it was beautiful."

Still, given that Doctor Fate was the easy MVP of the movie, it's a damn shame he presumably won't be back for any potential sequels.
