Black Adam: 20 WTF Moments
14. All The Justice League Shade
Given that Dwayne Johnson spent most of Black Adam's marketing tour claiming that it would change the DC universe's hierarchy of power, it's fitting that the film includes a ton of tongue-in-cheek jabs at the expense of the Justice League.
First off, when a wounded Adam wakes up in the bedroom of Adrianna's son Amon (Bodhi Sabongui), he rouses from a nightmare of his own son's demise and so reflexively fires a lightning bolt at the wall.
This oh-so-coincidentally incinerates a Superman poster on Amon's wall, burning the Man of Steel's face off entirely. This gag is then repeated at the end of the second act when Adam gets into a fight with Hawkman (Aldis Hodge) in Amon's room.
During the brawl, Hawkman's wings slice through a Flash poster, his mace slams into an Aquaman poster, and a pair of Batman and Wonder Woman action figures are catapulted into the air.
To top it off, Adam then punches a hole through a wall, also boring a hole straight through a poster baring the iconic Superman logo. It's not in any way subtle, but it is a fun, cheekily harmless dig at Johnson's "competition" in the DCEU.
