Black Adam Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs
Ups...
5. It's Undeniably Action-Packed
By far Black Adam's strongest asset is just how damn crammed with action it is. Even with the aforementioned visual gripes, few are likely to come away from the movie feeling that they've been short-changed on the sheer abundance of mayhem.
From start to finish, Black Adam never leaves the audience waiting too long for another superheroic throwdown, and given the sheer number of metahumans featured throughout the movie courtesty of the Justice Society, there's also a decent level of diversity to the set-pieces.
The easy highlight is surely the Justice Society's battle with Adam at the end of the first act, which allows director Jaume Collet-Serra to take full advantage of the many toys at his disposal.
None of this will rank among the best action you're likely to see on-screen this year, but in the very least it ensures that Black Adam remains watchable as a super-powered pyrotechnics display.
