Black Panther: 11 Implications For Infinity War

9. The Ancestral Plane

Black Panther Wakanda

One of the most fascinating concepts introduced in Black Panther is the ancestral plane, a mystical place the Black Panther can visit in order to talk to spirits of the dead in moments of turmoil.

We see the plane twice during the film, and it's incredibly likely we'll see it again in the near-future, perhaps even in Infinity War. It'll be interesting to see whether any of the Avengers other than T'Challa could end up using it, either to speak to their dead - Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) to his father? - or to speak to any Avengers who might've been killed by Thanos early in the movie.

Considering the ancestral plane can adapt to each individual person's existence - what with Erik Killmonger's (Michael B. Jordan) trip transporting him back to the apartment where his dad died - this has some incredibly tantalising visual possibilities depending on who might venture there.

Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes). General video game, TV and film nut. Occasional sports fan. Full time loon.
