Black Panther: 20 WTF Moments
6. Zuri
Forest Whittaker definitely looked the part as the Obi-Wan Kenobi-like Zuri, but as anyone who saw his performance in Rogue One will surely attest, he has lost his ability to offer nuanced performances.
Instead, he seems to be committed to being as weird as possible - in this case using an accent wildly at odds with almost every other Wakandan character - and performing through caricature.
More importantly, thanks to T'Challa learning everything he needed to about Killmonger from the vision of his father, he's a completely redundant character whose betrayal of N'Jobu is added for a needless bit of extra drama. And there's no hint of any sort of relationship between he and T'Challa that would hint at why the king is so devastated when he is killed off, either.
