In the same sequence that sees Shuri unveil T'Challa's new shoes, she also shows him the new technology she's been working on, including a couple of new Panther costumes that manifest using nano-tech from tribal necklaces worn around the neck with normal attire.

She shows two versions and T'Challa chooses the more understated version (as he doesn't want to stand out) but the one that he rejects as too ostentatious is clearly based more closely on the necklace the comic book T'Challa wears complete with real panther fangs.
