24. Nakia Is A Rogue

When we meet Lupita Nyong'O's Nakia, it's firmly established that she is something of a rogue character. Despite being her tribe's nominated warrior (according to how the challenge ceremony is set up at least), she is a spy who operates mostly outside of Wakanda's borders righting wrongs in the wider world.

This is something of a reference to the comic book version of the character, who also left Wakanda and went rogue. In that case, her obsession with T'Challa and jealous attempt to kill his fiancee led to her exile and eventual transition into villain Malice.

So in short, T'Challa was right to keep her as his romantic interest...
