Black Panther: New Suit Revealed In SDCC 2017 Poster
It looks like T'Challa is getting a bit of an upgrade.
San Diego Comic-Con is now underway and, while we aren't getting the Marvel Studios panel until Saturday, we have already had one reveal about a forthcoming movie.
One of the films likely to be getting a big push from Marvel is Black Panther, which will be the first MCU movie we get in 2018. Marvel have posters for the film up on the Comic-Con floor, images of which have of course made their way online, and they show off a new feature of T'Challa's suit.
In the poster, along with Michael B. Jordan's Erik Killmonger (in his mask), Lupita Nyong'o's Nakia, and Danai Gurira's Okoye, is Chadwick Boseman's hero, and as you can see in the image below, his suit is glowing purple.
It's a cool new addition, which is part of the character's current design in the comics. However, aside from making his already badass armour look even better, the light being emitted probably has a real function too.
Vibranium, which is woven into the suit, can absord and redistribute energy. So when he gets attacked, the suit will take that energy, and then the glowing stripes mean it's ready to be reused against his opponents.
Hopefully there'll be a few other cool additions to the suit when it appears on screen, and we should learn a few more details about it come Saturday's panel.
