There was a time when the MCU had a villain problem, with most of its baddies failing to live up to the lofty standards set by Tom Hiddleston' s Loki during Phase One. That issue was almost a distant memory thanks to the likes of Hela and the Vulture, but Michael B. Jordan's Eric Killmonger might have just stolen Loki's crown.

Several critics have dubbed Killmonger the best Marvel movie villain to date, claiming Jordan's charisma and screen presence bring the character to life in vivid detail.

The general consensus is that Black Panther makes its big bad compelling and relatable by giving him a motivation that is personal, political and almost understandable. From the sound of things, it will be difficult to root against him.

Looks like Thanos will have big shoes to fill when Infinity War breaks out in April.
