11. Yelena Will Become The New Black Widow
Like many superheroes, Black Widow is a title rather than a name. A title that can be passed down to others, much like Steve Rogers tried to do with the Captain America name at the conclusion of Endgame, and what we can expect to see in Hawkeye on Disney+.
The title comes from the Red Room where Natasha was trained in her youth, as she was put through the Black Widow Programme. In 2020, we will be introduced to at least two more characters that were put through the same ordeal in Yelena and Melina.
In the comics, Yelena Belova, one of Natasha's biggest rivals during the training programme, took the mantle of Black Widow after Romanoff died. There is much speculation that the same thing could happen in the MCU. While Florence Pugh has dismissed such claims, it's hard to imagine her doing an interview and giving away Marvel's big secret moving forward.
After an incredible 2019 that saw standout performances in Fighting With My Family, Midsommar, and Little Women, Florence Pugh is one of brightest young talents in Hollywood right now, and Marvel would be crazy not to sign her to a multi-picture deal.
