BlacKkKlansman Review: 8 Ups & 1 Down
The film the world needs right now.
Spike Lee's new film BlacKkKlansman is in cinemas now, and it's safe to say that Lee's adaptation of Ron Stallworth's 2014 memoir is a major return to form for the iconic filmmaker.
Coming at the end of a summer full of CGI-slathered blockbusters, it's at once an incredible palate cleanser and also a deeply important film about contemporary tensions in not only the U.S., but the world at large.
Likely to be an Oscar contender in many major categories - especially Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Film Editing - BlacKkKlansman is an emotionally draining but soulful, often riotously funny and stupendously well-produced film from start to finish.
If you're looking to leave the cinema on a chest-thumping high, there are better movies to watch, but if you want to soak in a fascinating true story that packs a brutal final gut-punch, this is an absolute must-see and certainly one of 2018's best films to date...
