Blade Runner 2049: 9 Easter Eggs You Probably Missed

8. Coca-Cola's Still Going Strong

More than three decades into an apocalyptic future and advertising never changes. One of the most prominent billboards standing out in neon against Blade Runner 2049's LA night is an ad for Coca-Cola, and this is definitely a nod to the original.

Similar Coca-Cola adverts can also be glimpsed in the first film, a brand Ridley Scott chose to depict because he saw it as "everlasting". Since it's still around in 2049 and has outlived the world's trees, that's certainly one way to describe it.

Denis Villeneuve has carried a number of the other advertised brands over from Blade Runner, including Pan Am and old-school video game firm Atari.

Ironically, they're both brands you won't see much of these days since Pan Am went bust in the early 1990s and Atari has since been bought out by Hasbro.
