8. Ryan Gosling Gives One Of His Best Performances

Ryan Gosling has been making fantastic career choices for quite a while, and his turn here as Officer K easily ranks as one of his best performances to date.

Though it's best going in cold to his place in the movie, Gosling does extremely good work with a meaty role that's far more than just a contemporary Deckard rehash, standing on its own as a full-bodied portrayal.

The film is effectively carried by Gosling's presence, his body and facial expressions in particular carrying the story through its more dialogue-sparse sequences, and he once again proves that he functions equally well in both the blockbuster and art-house realms (especially useful here as the film is basically a blend of both).
