Blockers Review: 7 Ups & 2 Downs

1. It's Sweet & Genuinely Hearfelt

Blockers

Despite all of the insanity taking place at Blockers' core, it manages to ultimately be a surprisingly sweet and affecting tale of parents coming to understand the agency of their children, and teenagers becoming more comfortable in their own skin, regardless of whether they lose their virginity or not.

A less-delicate script could've made the sentiment feel forced, but because there's always a thin layer of heart underneath even the crudest gags and it never feels mean-spirited, the sweetness doesn't feel out of place.

Smartly, the heartfelt content isn't overplayed or laid on too thickly, merely serving as a mild accompaniment to all the sex-fuelled mayhem.
