Bob Clark victim of fatal traffic collision

Director of the acclaimed movies A CHRISTMAS STORY and BLACK CHRISTMAS has tragically died.

Bob Clark and his 22 year old son Ariel were both killed early Wednesday morning after a traffic collusion on Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades. It's said they were hit by a drunk and uninsured driver who was later released from hospital with minor injuries. I haven't really seen a Bob Clark film, for some reason our paths have never crossed. The 1983 holiday film A Christmas Story is said to be his most famous work, with many deeming the movie a "timeless classic". He also helmed the original Black Christmas, which many people deem to be an extremely important film in the history of the slasher genre, as it even predates Halloween. It's really sad that the recent remake is just about to make it's DVD run. Clark was also responsible for the Sherlock Holmes mystery Murder by Decree, Dead of Night and Porky's. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this horrible time. source - la times
