Bond - No Time To Die Trailer Review: 7 Ups & 4 Downs

6. It Looks Beautiful

Bond Cinematography No Time To Die

The one thing you absolutely cannot ignore out of the door is how beautiful this film looks. Not only has Cary Joji Fukunaga clearly been reading the Handbook For Modern Bond Cinematography, but there are some stylised, stylish sequences in there that look absolutely gorgeous from a purely aesthetic stand-point.

The set design - particularly in Rami Malek's "lair" is opulent and it's very clear that the locations scouting team have gone out with the express agenda to pick out vistas and backgrounds that wouldn't look out of place on a Instagram travel vlogger's feed.

And on top of that, we get interesting shot choices, impactful palettes and cinematography that suggests a director not content with simply working towards an already established visual formula. Sure, the beats are there, but this feels like Fukunaga is throwing in some style of his own.
