Borat Subsequent Moviefilm Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs

1. It's A Rare Belated Comedy Sequel That Really Works

Above all of this, though, Borat's return to our screens is a rare after-the-fact comedy sequel that doesn't feel like a craven cash-grab - for one, it's "free" with your Amazon Prime subscription - nor a follow-up that coasts excessively on nostalgia.

Borat Subsequent Moviefilm is a fresh, incisive social satire that has the boldness to commit to its convictions and make a loudly proud plea for Americans to change the world when they head into voting booths this November.

It's tough to say what a third film could possibly be about, but let's be honest, did anyone ever see this thing coming 14 years ago?

In any event, Borat 2 lives up to the original in ways few could've possibly expected, and while not quite as fresh, proves the Kazakh reporter is far from a relic who should've stayed in his original era. Bravo.
