Briefcase

Someone actually finished a movie after having the briefcase idea!

I'm not trying to be negative again, honest, it's just, well, when you first attempt to write a screenplay (and come on, we've all tried it at some point), isn't the "briefcase" movie idea one of the first we come up with but then decide to shelve because of it's cliched nature? The following is a synopsis for a movie titled Cash (IMDB gimmick the title with Ca$h), written and directed by Stephen Milburn Anderson (no clue who he is but his CV does boost "location manager" for Masters of the Universe - how cool is that?)and starring Chris Hemsworth (Kirk's dad in Star Trek and the new Thor) and the amazing Sean Bean (who plays twins here). Now you tell me if this isn't similar to the first idea you had for a screenplay that was going to get you into the industry...

A financially struggling young couple, Sam (Chris Hemsworth) and Leslie (Victoria Profeta) think their luck has finally taken a turn for the better when they find a briefcase full of money. But their good fortune quickly turns into a deadly game when the strange and sinister criminal Pyke Kubic (Sean Bean) appears at their doorstep looking to collect on what they found.
Cash is searching for a distributor after being complete on October 28th. There's a trailer on Youtube and it's been on there since February...

The poster comes from a great article at Collider showcasing the promo work from the American Film Market.
