Bruce Lee: 10 Most Memorable Screen Moments

4. The Green Hornet (1966-67) - Kato Moments

rsz_1401690-the_green_hornet_kato(1) The Green Hornet was a short lived TV series that ran in the late sixties. Bruce Lee played Kato, the Green Hornet's Asian sidekick. Except, it never really came off that way. Imagine if Robin was more badass that Batman and in every scene they shared together Robin upstaged Batman with vastly superior fighting skills. That was the basic, but unintentional, premise behind The Green Hornet. The titular Green Hornet punches people so slowly he might as well be encased in carbonite and dipped in molasses. Bruce Lee as Kato moves with his usually preternatural speed and all the villains he attack have a somewhat too convincing look of fear. Bear in mind that real kung fu hasn't been seen on television at this point. The show is years ahead of its time and a precursor to the show Kung Fu. Interestingly, it was Bruce who pitched the idea of Kung Fu. Sadly, he was written out and replaced with a very Caucasian David Carradine.
