Butler got Game

nyphotocall12g.jpg300 really got Gerard Butler noticed within the film industry. The Scottish actor has a huge role in the Escape from New York remake upcoming and likely a role in Zack Snyder's Watchmen adaptation, and now another interesting project has been setup for him by the creators of Crank. The movie titled Game, is a futuristic high concept thriller, where basically the whole world has become this mass-scale online multiplayer video game. Everyone is linked together by mind control technology and the flick will no doubt be a social satire on our ever increasing dependence on the Internet and our strive for creating the ultimate video game experience. From The Hollywood Reporter...
Butler ("300") plays Kable, the No. 1-ranked warrior in the highest-rated game, called "Slayers." With his every move tracked by millions, Kable's ultimate challenge is to regain his identity and bring down the system that has imprisoned him.
Sounds pretty cool. Butler was a God of mammoth proportions in 300, so hopefully we can look forward to the same type of thing here. Although I have to say, I finally got round to watching Crank today and I hated that movie. So if Game goes in the same mindless direction with a similarly badly written script from these guys, then I shall have to avoid this flick.
