Cafe Society Review: 6 Ups & 3 Downs

4. It Features One Of The Year's Funniest Scenes

Easily the funniest scene in the movie occurs early on when Bobby has arrived in Hollywood and decides to call up a hooker new on the job, played by Pitch Perfect's Anna Camp.

What follows is a masterstroke of cringe comedy, as the two awkwardly negotiate their impending coitus, with a series of miscommunications resulting in the two essentially talking the transaction to death.

It feels like the most classically Allen scene in the entire movie, and is terrifically played by both actors. It's witty, silly and slightly vulgar all at once: Allen at his best, then.
