Longtime fans are united by their love of Tony Todd’s performance of the titular character. He’s an actor who is The Candyman. Regardless of what other movies he’s in, he remains The Candyman.

So, of course, that’s why a lot of people are interested in this movie: Is Tony Todd back?!

What this trailer does perfectly, is introduce a new string of potential protagonists, make the viewer aware that The Candyman is back, but it never reveals who The Candyman is exactly.

The one part where the trailer reveals The Candyman’s voice, it does so in a way that it is unfamiliar. Is this the voice of the new killer, or just a clever way of delaying the reveal of the one actor who is synonymous with our beloved villain?
