Following the big final battle between Captain America and the Winter Soldier (his former friend Bucky Barnes), it appeared as though Cap got through to Bucky, as the latter saved the former from drowning before walking away, leaving Cap unconscious but safe. Many thought the he might be returning to his superiors at HYDRA to continue working for them, but that wasn't the case. In a post-credits scene, Bucky is seen dressed in normal clothes at the Captain America exhibit in the Smithsonian, seemingly remembering who he really is. Does this mean he will come round from his brainwashing at the hands of HYDRA? Will he ultimately become a force of good? Maybe he'll join the Avengers? He could even replace Steve Rogers as Captain America if, as reported, Chris Evans' contract runs out, Cap dies and a new iconic American superhero is required to make the public feel safe. There is potential for him to appear in both Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and future movies, so we will no doubt learn more in the coming months/years.
