2. Spider-Man
Not surprisingly, everyones favourite wall-crawler was not in the first trailer. Of course, unlike Ant-Man or Vision, whose brief appearances would have made sense, no one genuinely expected Spider-Man to show up this early in the promotions. From a marketing standpoint, Spider-Man is a huge draw. Theres no sense in Marvel immediately giving away his new look. In fact, he may not even appear at all in any promotional materials; not only does keeping him a secret make it all the more powerful when he is revealed, it also stops him from detracting from Captain America. This is Cap's film, despite the litany of other heroes in it, and showcasing someone as big as Spider-Man, even for a brief second, takes that away from him. As much as some might have been hoping to see the web-head in costume, it's hardly surprising that he wasn't there. Frankly, would it really be that shocking for him to simply show up at the very end of the film, asking if he missed anything?
