Captain America Civil War: 10 Implications For Infinity War

6. Lots Of Death Is On The Way

One of the most surprising aspects of Civil War is how low the body count is: none of the Avengers end up getting killed off, and the only remotely significant death is Crossbones, who is offed in the movie's first 15 minutes.

Expect that to be upended in Infinity War, though, with Thanos likely taking out a number of the "lesser" superheroes with ease early on (perhaps Falcon or Hawkeye), while a few higher-level Avengers might bite the bullet in Part 2's climax.

Considering how much good work Civil War put into making the stakes of life and death seem believable while actually not killing any major characters, Infinity War needs to follow-through by having a few beloved heroes die. It'll push the MCU into new, emotional directions and make us feel the weight of death (something the MCU has been criticised for lacking).
