Captain America: Civil War - 10 MCU Problems It Needs To Fix
6. Kill A Noteworthy Avenger
Right Marvel Studios, the time has finally come to bite the bullet. Stop pussyfooting around when it comes to killing off major characters! So far, whenever an important character has died or appeared to die, they've been brought back to life or have been revealed to have actually survived (Phil Coulson, Nick Fury, Thor and Loki to name but a few). And when a character has been killed off on an apparently permanent basis, it's been a character that audiences haven't had time to build a rapport with (Quicksilver or countless villains, for example) - a cop out, essentially. This leaves audiences feeling too comfortable and makes the MCU's movies too predictable. Fans know the key characters are safe and that removes any "edge of your seat" style excitement. For once, Marvel Studios need to have the balls to kill off a key character - one that fans have grown to love - on a permanent basis. Captain America: Civil War - an event that will pit numerous superhumans against each other - is an ideal movie to do that in.
