Captain America Civil War: 12 Big Questions From Everything We Know So Far

5. What Role Will Spider-Man Play?

The biggest piece of news surrounding Marvel this year, and the most exciting, is that the rights to Spider-Man are finally going to be reverting back to them (sort-of). After a failed attempt at rebooting the franchise with The Amazing Spider-Man, Sony are now sharing their shiniest superhero toy, meaning Marvel can use him in the MCU and will be co-producing a standalone story for Spidey, due out in 2017. First, though, they'll be introducing Peter Parker, who will be in high school, in Captain America: Civil War, with Tom Holland playing the web-slinger. Great news, but it also has us wondering: what exactly will he be doing? Spidey has a major part to play in Civil War in the comics, but given he's not established in the MCU - and that they're following a different path - he won't be able to fulfill that role here. Is he still going to be taking a side and fighting against one of the heroes (the rumour is that he'll be on Team Stark)? Or, as seems the case at the moment, is this really just going to be a glorified cameo before his own film a year later?
